The Malmö Food Council is a membership-driven organization dedicated to elevating Malmö's rich and vibrant food culture to new heights. We are committed to bringing together stakeholders from various sectors who view food as the key to a sustainable future.
Mission
The Malmö Food Council aims to elevate Malmö’s rich and vibrant food culture to new heights by strengthening and promoting an inclusive and sustainable local food system.
We do this by bringing together actors – individuals and organizations – from different sectors who view food as the key to a sustainable future for all. We can and should learn from each other's experiences to better understand our unique local food culture.
With collective knowledge, we strive for a deeper understanding of Malmö and Söderslätts' local food system in order to actively work towards promoting the place, status, and significance of food in society..
Vision
Our vision is a Malmö where food is a cornerstone of sustainability, inclusivity, and community. United for Food in Malmö envisions a future where every resident has access to fresh, nutritious, and culturally diverse food, sourced ethically and sustainably.
We strive for a city where food systems are resilient, regenerative, and equitable, fostering vibrant local economies and strengthening social bonds. Through collaborative action and shared commitment, we envision Malmö as a location of innovation and inspiration for building a more just and sustainable food system, not only for our city but for communities around the world.
