We're excited to announce that Malmö Food Council has joined the Smakstaden project as of May 2024. This initiative tackles the challenges of future food production and delivery in cities, aiming to boost both food quality and local self-sufficiency.
The goal is to create a system where local producers supply directly to urban consumers, with a vision to produce a third of the city's food within its borders within the next decade. This will strengthen Sweden’s preparedness and reduce dependence on imports, while also attracting new talent and investment in sustainable food production.
We look forward to collaborating with partners like Sustainable Innovation, AFRY Experience Studios, SLU, Malmö City, and Vinnova to build a more sustainable food future.
